An independent, Kent-based mental health service caring for adults since 2001 — grown from a psychology practice into a multidisciplinary team of 28.
Sinclair-Strong Consultants Ltd has provided an independent mental health service in Kent since 2001, founded by Dr Neil Sinclair and Dr Linda Strong.
The husband-and-wife partnership began their careers in Perth, Western Australia before moving to England in 1996. Alongside building an independent practice, both have worked across the NHS, the non-profit sector and government services in Australia and the UK.
What started as a psychology service expanded in 2018 into a multidisciplinary mental health service offering assessment and treatment for autistic adults. In 2019 it grew again to include Positive Behaviour Support, with a dedicated PBS Lead and team. The service has continued to develop and now holds a number of individual and standard NHS contracts.
Between them, the two directors bring over 70 years of experience in psychology, supported by a strong team of health practitioners — clinical and forensic psychologists, occupational therapists, a speech and language therapist, and PBS practitioners. Complex work is supported by a service manager and case manager, with a well-established admin team behind it all.
Our work spans a wide range of mental-health needs, organised into teams for complex autism, autism assessment, adult mental health, community services for people with intellectual disability and autism, positive behaviour support, and consultation services including assessments, reports, training and consultancy.
